Car Stops / Shooting Incidents
Three scenarios showing an officer in shooting incidents.  These scenarios show how not following proper officer safety and survival techniques can cause a situation to turn bad very easily.  First see two examples of the wrong way to handle these situations, then see the right way.
Edged Weapons
CJA Instructor Bruce Hancock explains various types of edged weapon attacks an officer may encounter on the street, and brief discussion of defenses that can be used for protection.
Preparing for Patrol
CJA Instructor Mike Lanier goes over how an officer should prepare for patrol every time he/she goes out on duty. From the officer's uniform, duty belt, and weapon to his/her car.
Survival Mind Set
An in depth interview with SLED Agent  Roger Owens about an incident where he was shot in the line of duty.  Roger discusses what he felt and how having a winning attitude got him through the situation.
Contact v Cover Officer
CJA Instructor Bruce Hancock discusses the duties of both the contact officer and the cover officer when interviewing a suspect, proper reactionary gap an officer should use when dealing with suspects out on the street, and some of the common danger cues that a suspect might be getting ready to attack an officer.
Ambushes
CJA Instructor Bruce Hancock discusses the difference between cover and concealment. Cover will stop a ballistic round, concealment means only that someone cannot see you. Bruce gives examples of both cover and concealment to illustrate his points.

A scenario shows that no matter how well an officer thinks he/she knows a suspect, the unexpected can happen.  An officer should be ready at all times to defend himself/herself.

Scenarios where an officer is ambushed.

SLED Bloodhounds
How the SLED Bloodhound team works when tracking a suspect.
Proper Pat-down Procedures
